CHIPPED OR BROKEN TEETH

There are usually 3 main reasons for a tooth to chip or break:

  1. Decay
  2. Poor Filling
  3. Wear and Tear

But don’t let that broken tooth go unattended for to long. In most cases being seen immediately means we can fix that tooth on the day and have no further complications. Leaving the tooth to long can lead to further break down of the tooth, especially if the break was due to decay. Having the decay worsen can lead to bigger and more expensive treatment. So call our team at Portrush Family Dental today at 8362 4034.

SORE GUMS

Sore gums or bleeding gums can be a sign of needing a good clean. Build up of plaque and calculus/tartar around the teeth causes and inflammatory response in our gums. This leads to gingivitis and pain and/or bleeding. Removing the cause, the plaque and calculus, can usually relief these symptoms within a couple days. Sore gums can also be something more severe like a dental abscess. In this instance, this needs to be seen to as soon as possible. Abscesses can worsen very quickly and spread to other parts of the body. Again, if seen early this can be quickly controlled and treated. But if left unattended, severe pain and limited treatment options will be the only approach. Please don’t go through the pain, let us help you and get that problem fixed!
